Barge Cruises in Alsace-Lorraine, Champagne and Paris

The canal between Nancy and Strasbourg in the Alsace-Lorraine region is an explosion of flowers and beauty in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Part French and part German culture, this mix is a delight to the eyes and senses. Highlights of the region are the historic center of Strasbourg, the pretty canalside villages of Saverne and Lutzelbourg, the inclined lock of Arzviller, the grand square in Nancy, and the scenic wine route famous for its dry white wines.

Champagne is the height of fine living and sophisticated French culture. Mixed with rolling green hills covered with champagne grapes and the ancient wine villages, this area is celebration and bubbles everywhere. The World War I memorial and Bellau Wood battleground near Chateau Thierry are more sobering, but very historic sights, worth seeing.

Paris, the city of lights! What could be more exciting than to cruise right through the heart of it. Savoir Faire and La Nouvelle Etoile offer barge cruises on the Seine and Marne Rivers from Paris to Champagne.
